VCF uses 16 gauge steel 55 gallon open-top drums, lined with factory applied epoxy phenolic coating and, for liquid phase applications, removable LDPE 15 mil liners. The 2” NPT influent and effluent connections are top mounted for ease of installation. The drum has both top and side access ports for sampling and draining. The adsorptive media is 155 lbs of activated charcoal originating from coal or coconut shells in either pelleted or granular firm. Zeolite/OrganoClay materials are also available. VCF prefers to recycle our units by arranging for pickup and disposal whenever possible.
